  • " Yes " or " No " And My Contemplation On Past Westminster Promises.

I am thinking of the Scottish Independence. Oh, and the promises Of Westminster.

I usually am not waxing very political on this blog, but I was doing a lot of reading and consideration of the Scottish Referendum today. Then I read my monthly installment of An Phoblacht and history painted a picture of doubts of trust in my mind.

I am certainly wondering if this lot ( PM Cameron and the Tories ) are very trustworthy at all, as I consider what has become of the Good Friday Agreement, or other agreements made to the North. The peace process is floundering, many of the promises of the past are left undone. Is this the same Scotland will find true of the promises of Westminster if they say " No " today. I am not so sure it isn't.

I see both pros and cons from the " Yes " or " No " vote. One thing I do know, that promises and fear tactics aside, Westminster has not always been a good partner toward its neighbours up north.

Read this article below, it makes you wonder about promises and the history of the government and its attitude toward the North.

  • Had A Nice Weekend Back Home In Ottawa.

Adam and I, enjoyed a nice weekend together in Ottawa this past weekend. We were able to just relax, be a little crazy and have a nice boat ride on the Illinois and Fox Rivers with my dear friends the Nordstrom's and various friends. Adam even got to be the captain of the vessel for a bit. He certainly had a different style of seamanship. LOL.

I appreciated the the wonderful time John and his dear wife Glenda allowed us to have at their home, putting us up in a fine apartment. Adam I know really enjoyed himself and that's what matters the most to me.

We also had the honor to hear John preach Sunday morning and have fellowship with the church family at Christ Community. It was a refreshing weekend. Didn't want it to end, but had to get back to Omaha. I pray God's grace and mercy to all for the remainder of the week for all.
